Before starting anything I would like to say that cupping therapy is another tool in arsenal of a Physiotherapist or any other trained professionals in cupping to help the patient get rid of pain. It uses cups made of glass/plastics which are placed upon the body part to be treated. So basically after placing the cup the vaccum pressure start to pull your skin inside the cup resulting in increase blood flow to the area and thus removing the various toxic material present in our body to drain out from that area. Moreover due to the pull the tight fascia, muscles, sore muscles, trigger point causing pain in that area get released due to the pull. So this is a brief idea how cupping works.
As the name suggests Dry needling the needle is dry that means it does not deliver any medicine in it to the body...The needle used in Dry needling are small hair like filiform needle which we insert through the skin to the target soft tissue to bring about a therapeutic effect. Although the neddle used are same as accupunture neddle but the theory and mechanism of action are different between accupunture and dry needling. Accupunture is based on theory of traditional Chinese medicine where there are certain energy points in our body where the needle is inserted to treat different kind of condition. Dry needling is basically used to treat musculoskeletal pain and to promote tissue healing which results in pain relief. Dry needling in done primarily to break the trigger point (muscle knots) formed in our muscle due to prolonged muscle tightness which results in pain dry neddle helps in breaking those muscle knots.Another property of dry needling is to promote tissue healing b...
Every sports requires a good muscle and mind coordination to perform better. Especially muscles must have a proper balance between strength and flexibility to perform and to be less injury prone during sports activities. With regular training and activities tone of muscles get increased and in the long run it might eventually develop in muscle/joint stiffness if there is no proper balance between strenght and flexibility. According to recents studies and my personal experience we tend to see a relationship between stiff muscles/joints affecting our mind in various ways resulting in poor muscle mind coordination... So cupping and IASTM along with other electrotherapy modalities may help in relaxing those muscles and thus improving overall health and performance...
